The Haven at Clarity Maternity Home empowers pregnant women by providing security, support, and soul rest. We do this through sheltering physical life, speaking words of life over brokenness, and fostering abundant life in a gospel-filled environment so that hope and dignity can be restored for generations.
Our Story
The Haven Maternity Home is a ministry arm of Clarity Solutions Pregnancy Resource Center and Medical Clinic. Clarity serves men and women in unexpected pregnancy situations, and over the years of its service, it has become apparent that many women need not only a free ultrasound or CPR class but also a home.
Like in many areas, many people in Central Kentucky suffer from inadequate housing options or unsafe living situations. They can find themselves sleeping on friends’ couches, camping, or scraping together money for a rent-by-week hotel, even during pregnancy, or afraid for their personal safety and well-being.
So, in 2022, Clarity officially opened its maternity home, The Haven. It exists not only to offer physical shelter to expectant moms, but also to offer them a true home. The Haven shows them that they can find the love and support they need and create a strong future for themselves and their babies.
Sheltering physical life
The Haven provides a literal roof over heads. Women in our community face multiple issues, from poverty to lack of transportation to unstable relationships. At The Haven, pregnant women can find the security they and their babies need to overcome these challenges.
Speaking words of life
The Haven isn’t just a temporary shelter. Our program includes individualized goal-setting, life skills training, transportation to needed appointments, education on pregnancy, parenting, or adoption, and the material supplies baby needs.
Fostering abundant life
Though we welcome anyone from any faith background or none at all, The Haven is a Christian home environment. Jesus has abundant love for each woman and baby who live here. Bible study, morning devotions, and church attendance are all part of life at The Haven.
Meet the Team
DIRECTOR OF RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
Dana Caudill
Dana Caudill has been serving at Clarity since 2021 as the Director of Residential Services at The Haven. A former Case Manager for a community mental health clinic and also for a non-profit housing ministry, Dana stepped away from her career in order to raise and invest in her two children. After being out of the workforce, God, in His good timing, called her to The Haven, in order to use her previous expertise and passions to help the women she serves. She and her husband, Shaun, have been married for 22 years and have two teenage children. Dana loves to be outdoors, spend time with her family and also curl up with a good book.
HOUSE MANAGERS
Daryl + Sheila Mullins
Daryl and Sheila come to The Haven as our House Managers, overseeing the day-to-day operations and living with our residents. God filled their hearts with a passion to minister to women experiencing unexpected pregnancy. So after pastoring in Northern Kentucky for more than 30 years, Daryl retired and he and Sheila are happy to now call Elizabethtown, and The Haven, home. Daryl and Sheila love to travel, explore together, and spend time with their 3 kids and 8 grandchildren. Sheila also loves to dye her hair every color of the rainbow! They have been married 41 years.
